As greek cypriot politicians you always come far behind the realities in the field, it was nearly impossible to make them believ in a federative Cyprus they rejected everything asked their people to reject the Annan plan, now the Turkish side lost their hope in any kind of federative solution, the Greek side will 10 years later remember these days and will beg to sit to the table of negotiation to use the northern Cyprus state as a barrier between themselves and Turkiye but it will be too late. If GCs were a bit smart they would already accept a deal not perfect but incorporating the north into their governance but because they are so ethnically puritan in their views, they don't accept anything that will give some breath to Turkish identity.
