The new Maritime Doctrine of the Russian Federation provides for activity on Svalbard, Franz Josef Land, Novaya Zemlya and Wrangel Island.

What else is said in the new doctrine:

The US course towards dominance in the world ocean is the main challenge to the national security of the Russian Federation.

▫️The lack of a sufficient number of bases outside the Russian Federation to provide ships and vessels of the Navy is a risk.

The Kuril and Baltic straits, the Black Sea and the eastern part of the Mediterranean are important for Russia's national security.

▫️The Russian Federation will strengthen the military infrastructure in the Crimea and strengthen the Black Sea Fleet.

▫️The Maritime Doctrine provides that the Russian Federation has logistics points in the Red Sea.

The new naval doctrine provides for the development of production facilities for the construction of modern aircraft carriers for the navy.

▫️The Russian Federation can use military force to realize its interests in the oceans when diplomatic possibilities are exhausted.
